Today's Party Game is Urban Haiku

Using imagery from manmade objects and urban environments.

Old engines leak oil
dead leaves and greasy rainbows
choke up the storm drain

In subway tunnels
rats who never see daylight
dream trains with cats' eyes

Up twenty stories
A clapboard house and garden
Perch on the rooftop

Four basements' basements
Lurk below this thing called ground
Consensus fiction

Anyone else want to play?

Cool, thanks!

Oh, wow, I love that last one particularly. It really has that WHOOMPF of things startlingly opening up that's the traditional haiku twist, but in a completely different way.

lovely meeting you
who knew we shared the same town?
we must meet again

somewhere fabulous
where we can appreciate
all the city's gifts

Very clever! And yes we definitely should do. Especially once I can walk.
