I did not get my ATS End of Days thingie done on time. I am lame. I am even lamer because it was not even busyness that kept me from it, but utter burned out bone laziness. I did nothing of any consequence this weekend. (Watching all of Firefly from start to finish doesn't count.)

On the up side, that is quite possibly why I am sane and not speaking in tongues at the moment. Which is good, because I have way too much to do at work this week, all the usual plus a massive article that must be pulled together and cut down to half-massive from a huge jumble of repetitive interviews and 50+ pages of research. And I'm having major anxiety dreams which are ostensibly about giant squirrel rats and being late for high school (Twelve years late has to be a new record), but I think are actually about the election, and my paralysing fear of the Giant Squirrel Rat in Chief.

Or worry about Mom's remaining-breast mammogram, which is today. That could be it too.

So, I breathe. And I apologize for my lameness. Assuming there is no bad news, I'll try to get End of Days done tonight.

::hugs you:: With best wishes for your Mom.

Bush as squirrel is just perfect. I had a squirrel get into my apartment once -- our showdown was so long in coming that I actually joined an online group called "All squirrels must die" before I managed to boot the offender and come to my obviously wanting senses.

Hee! There's an online group for everything, isn't there?

Yes. Kind of fun as a challenge. This one was one of my favorite finds as of late:

Appropriate timing, really, given the festivities occurring tomorrow.

-hope for good news on your Mom-

Er, why did they put the *#%! semicolon next to the "l" when I'm not fully awake?

Alas, I don't think her digestion is quite up to chocolate yet, post-chemo. Though she can drink V8 now so I could be wrong. I'll ask, anyway. :)

Luckily we get the results the same day. So I'll be out of my suspense before tomorrow's suspense. Whee, fear!

Our rats insist there is nothing ratlike about that guy in the White House.

Well I'm phobic, but I'm sure your rats are an entirely superior breed to the weird lumpy hybrid things that haunted my dreams, *and* to the president.

Self-time is good. We all understand. (And those who don't should be beaten with very ticklish feathers.)

Fingers crossed for you & your mum.

*squirms at the thoughts of being beaten with feathers*

I'm weird, I know. Wire flogger, bring it on. Tickling? SAFEWORD.

A good friend of mine since I've known since I was 7 was similar - quite the scrappy girl, very tough, but she could be reduced to tears by tickling. It's a very lose-control thing. Evil. *g*

Ahem. While everyone else is offering support and sympathy -- deserved, let me add -- I'd like to pause for a moment to take issue with the above two statements.

In what kind of universe does watching all of Firefly not count as consequential??? <cough cough cough>. Okay, admittedly, Bush seems to be in charge in this one, which does add a very bitter tinge to reality -- but, still.

Hee! Okay, good point.

I did nothing productive this weekend except clean up the apartment so mom could stay there last night for her doctor's appointment this morning. Consequential is different. *grin*

Don't worry. (Well, maybe about the squirrel rats and the high school stuff. Because? Duuude.) Missed the End of Days deadline as well, if only due to sheer stupidity. Doyle said it's fine to submit it all a litl

Phew! I'd still like to do it tonight, since if Bush wins I may crawl into a hole of depression and submit it a lot later or not at all. But at least I don't have to feel bad about it. Thanks!
