stakebaitMy company does this thing called RE Cares, where we all get two days off a year to volunteer, if we want them. Which is pretty cool, except the organized thingies are always right at my busiest time. So when they offered Book Buddies, which you can do whenever, I signed right up. The way it works is, both you and a kid from a local school read the same book. You write each other three letters about it, and at the end of the year you get to meet them.
The books are pretty lame, at least so far. But my Book Buddy is a smart cookie. She just sent me a drawing, and I have hung it up in my cubicle with magnets, and the way she misspells my name makes my chest go all gooey with the cute. /me is dork, but I don't care. I have flowers with names! She named the tulip Rosie and the sunflower Daisy.
