I wrote to the author of Slayer Slang to give positive feedback and make a couple of points that occurred to me while reading, and he wrote a very nice letter back! Yay for fandom participatory culture: prior to knowing y'all, I would probably never have thought to write to a pro author -- it would have felt intrusive. Now it feels like a natural part of continuing the conversation.
Scary:
Pharmacists who won't fill prescriptions (for the Pill) that they don't approve of.. I'm suddenly really glad I don't live in a one-pharmacy town. Sorry I forgot whose link this was.
