Picture me doing the dance of the scary wrinkly guy from the Six Flags commercials. (If you are not in a media market that features this commercial, there is a scary wrinkly guy. He dances.)

The Supreme Court upheld the right of Guantanamo Bay detainees to appeal in US Courts!

Okay, I thought better of it, but there was a moment there where I seriously broke out the caps lock, because whoo hoo!

NYTimes article is here, if you prefer.

Also, the case I got to see oral arguments for, Ashcroft v. ACLU, has been decided -- sort of. They sent COPA back to a lower court for a new trial. Still, good news for fans of porn and/or free speech.

Okay, I’m still a long way from done, but I’ve got enough to do an update post of the Iron Author requests so far:

Gunn/Xander not-knowing-the-other-one-knows-about-the-supernatural post S4/S1, for [livejournal.com profile] ngaio: Malibu Speedzone

An unfinished, untitled, five-part-and-counting original SF/fantasy story for [livejournal.com profile] filkerdave: A man in full medieval garb is found dead, apparently killed by a directed energy weapon of some sort, is found in a present-day American shopping mall

Untitled Spike punches Xander in the head, for [livejournal.com profile] wiseacress

Untitled Giles/Wes, spoilery for the ATS series finale, for [livejournal.com profile] lucifrix

For [livejournal.com profile] zortified, Xander’s attempt to write a sonnet for Giles, and Giles’ response (Scroll down in the comments for Zort’s Oz’s limerick reply.)

For my [livejournal.com profile] cadhla, Jump Rope Rhyme involving seashells, stars, and sand.

For devo, a poem using the words silvery, lucent, bone.

For [livejournal.com profile] deepad, original fiction involving New York, an Indian girl, and a cat. No Closets to Speak Of.

I haven’t forgotten the rest of you, I promise. I’ll get them all done eventually. Even if the paradelle kills me, which it just might. :) If you didn’t put in a request and you want to, go ahead, but it may be a while.

As always, the characters and world of fanfiction are not mine, but belongs to Joss Whedon, Mutant Enemy, Fox, etc.

Forgot to say, I got my copy of The Amazing Adventures of the Escapist and it rocks hard. If you liked Chabon's Kavalier and Clay, you must read this. If you haven't but just love comics geekery, history, or actual comics, you should still read this.

Even if you don't much care for comics or superheroes, but have a soft spot for *insanely* well-done tie in products, the kind that makes you cry with beautifully superfluous detail, you should check it out. The back cover copy alone could make you believe you're walked through the wardrobe and are living in that world.

More enthusiastic babble, not really spoilery )
