Maybe I’m not “a responsible citizen”. Maybe I’m a cranky embittered old bitch. I’m *allowed* to be. When we’ve shifted the burden of proof from the police to show why they need to know to me to justify why I don’t want to tell them, that’s big.

genarti mentioned the song “Easy People” by the Neilds, so I looked up the lyrics and found:

That just rang like a water glass for me. Maybe not for always -- I’ve loved my difficult people -- but in that moment it was perfect.
