I am back from Lunacon and incoherent with fatigue, which I attribute partly to skip=400 on this very friendslist, and partly to the fact that it only takes one night for me to become acclimated to a nocturnal schedule, but it also takes at least one to go back.

So this is not so much a con report as (long) fragments of my consciousness surfacing before they go down for the last time. )

P.S. Wish we could have multiple moods. I'm exhausted *and* flirty *and* content *and* excited. And why doesn't the livejournal spellchecker recognize livejournals' own name and HTML tags?

For the people at the urban fantasy panel at Lunacon who wanted a booklist, but didn't have time/pen and paper/brain/religious permission to write down the titles that got thrown out in the last five minutes:

Rec your favorite urban fantasy titles, please?

I'll start us off )

British article suggests women want to see gay male sex on screen. Hear, hear!

There is a Salon.com article about the life of a midlist author making the rounds. I am interested, but not nearly as shocked as I’m apparently supposed to be. Read more... )

Dude. Funniest advice to writers ever, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] tnh's blog Making Light. By John Scalzi, who is apparently a very prolific and successful writer that I've completely missed.

Of course, I've already blithely ignored his point about the unpublished having opinions on publishing once today, but that doesn't mean I disagree with it. Other things I have opinions on include hybrid roses, novelty chocolate pots, and manatees. They don't care either, and I don't expect them to. Truly told, I'm not quite sure why y'all care either, but I'm happy that you do.

Also it's all wrong that the searing type thing sounds kinda hot. Although what *would* I be branded with, if I had to choose an ASCII character? I'm thinking "etc." :)
