Yikes! A bill to allow Congress to reverse the judgment of the Supreme Court. Link courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] trinker. Quite apart from the *shudder* value, how does that even work? The Court holds the law unconstitutional and then Congress invokes the law to say they're wrong? After 200+ years the American legal system eat its own tail, film at 11.

Minsters charged with solemnizing weddings without a license. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] thebratqueen for the link. The really fun part of this story is that ministers have been marrying gay couples for years. But these ministers are being criminally charged for *thinking the marriage would count legally* as they did it.

Sweden poised to recognize gay marriage, replacing a law that already allowed civil unions with full rights. Yay Sweden!

Link comes from [livejournal.com profile] emmett_the_sane, as does this: Another fucking scary bill to hamstring the judiciary. Yikes, part two. The details )

Write your Congresscritters if you got 'em? This and the bill to let Congress overrule the Supreme Court are like killing a flea with an elephant gun. On a pressurized space station.
