Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] dovil and [livejournal.com profile] minitrog! And to anyone else I've missed lately. Also happy belated Purim and/or Holi to those that celebrate them, and extra hugs to all the folks who are going through drama right now.

Quote of the day, from [livejournal.com profile] xiphias: I was amused by the bit, right after Esther saved the Jews from Haman, where she pointed out to the king that he'd been basically useless, and left him, and ran off with Vashti to San Francisco to get married.

There is a rumor that Mutant Enemy is in talks with the WB re: a sixth season of Angel after all. This is all unbelieveably vague and tentative, and I'm afraid to get my hopes up.

[livejournal.com profile] scotusblog is just a tease, because every time I click through it tells me there's not enough space on the disk. The Court has issued opinions, but you can't read them, hahahhahaha. I hate it when my RSS feeds do the evil laugh.

How did I miss linking to this? D'oh! New York recognizes gay marriages made elsewhere.

In other news, I'm trimming my friends list, because 296 journals is too many for me to keep up with. So I'm forcing myself to cut some folks who actually post, and not just the cosmetic trim of inactive journals that doesn't actually shorten the daily catch up time.

If you're one of the trimmed, please know that it's nothing personal. I still like you, I'm just in danger of being fired. :) You're still more than welcome to read and comment here. Or if you'd rather, you're welcome to return the favor and reclaim your free time. It's all good.

Word Count: 723.

Whoo hoo! Only, um, seven weeks late, I've gotten going on Broken Glass Slippers again. Finally figured out I wasn't moving because the character didn't want to move on from her loss, and incorporated that into the narrative, as [livejournal.com profile] cadhla suggested. Not so happy with this bit -- a lot of tell, compared to show -- but it'll do for a draft. What happens is the right thing to happen, just not sure about how.

Also, the city of Seattle will recognize gay marriages made by its employees

San Jose City Council to vote on granting benefits to employees who've made same-sex marriages. A church group is organizing opposition, so if you're local and free at 1:30 p.m. you might want to go.

Depressing news from [livejournal.com profile] ardet:

Articles on women's self-immolation in Afghanistan here and here. Jesus.

In more frivolous news, I've promised [livejournal.com profile] ocean_song some Spike threesome smut. Anyone have requests for who the other two people should be?
