Whoo hoo! Only, um, seven weeks late, I've gotten going on Broken Glass Slippers again. Finally figured out I wasn't moving because the character didn't want to move on from her loss, and incorporated that into the narrative, as
cadhla suggested. Not so happy with this bit -- a lot of tell, compared to show -- but it'll do for a draft. What happens is the right thing to happen, just not sure about how.
Also, the city of Seattle will recognize gay marriages made by its employees
