Mmmmmmm. Got a massage at lunch! Yay, company health fair. They should quit paying for the Employee Assistance Program and spring for free backrubs instead. It would do more for morale and stress reduction, not to mention employee retention.

And thanks to the health fair, I am considering joining a gym. Who am I, and what have I done with the real Mer? But they have swimming and yoga and t'ai chi, and a CLUEFUL PERSONAL TRAINER WHO DOESN'T ASSUME I WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT, and also does not shrink from mentioning that I'm heavy when it's relevant. (He also introduced himself as a Level 4 Trainer, thus accidentally sending my mind down an entire path of Real World D&D and causing me to miss the next sentence.)

You have to pay extra for Clueful Trainer, alas, but if I can spring for the actual monthly fee (iffy at best) I think it'd be worth springing for a session or three to design a workout I can do without him. Anyway I'll use my free week and see if the madness passes.

They also have a yacht. Why does a health club have a yacht? It's free to members, but you can only bring a friend four times without paying, and my mind boggles at attempting to socialize with people based on the fact that we work out at the same chain of health clubs. I'm not saying you can't meet cool people at the gym, because you can meet cool people anywhere, but you can meet cool people at the bookstore too and they don't have a yacht.

The beach club, on the other hand, I am not arguing with at all.

I could, of course, look around for a health club sans yacht which might be cheaper, but with the corporate discount I'm not sure if I would find one.

Nothing wrong with having a boat. Boats are good. The arrogance that comes along with it being a yacht I could do without, but hey...

But are they Elmer J. Fudd, millionaire, and do they also own a mansion?

Yay cluefulness! Also yay t'ai chi, though my tired brain went 'spiced tea? odd, but yum!' at first. But no, that's the other roughly-eastern-from-here thing with both a 'ch' and an 'ai' in it.

Wow, I seem to recall you mentioning awhile back that you hated gyms! And what on earth gym has a yacht!? Yay for cool PTs, though. The ones I've encountered at my gym are presumptuous asses. ;-P

Hey, you know how I feel about trainers and working out...
If you join, I call dibs on a yacht trip!
