Personally I'd rather see Episode III staked through the reels at midnight in an unmarked grave instead. Not that I'm holding a grudge for the waste of two hours of my life that was Episode II. *g*
But, yeah. And good point about Sin City.
I can't read Joss' statement at all. On the one hand, Hollywood has this thing where you have to be really gracious and upbeat even while they're reposessing your editing system. OTOH, Joss is not known for BSing his fans. So I'm guessing there's some spin and maybe some wishful thinking, but also some truth.
Anyway I'll do what little I can to make sure opening weekend box office is high. I suspect, though I could be wrong, that there are a lot more people waiting for Serenity than there were for Sky Captain. And I hope that initial buzz of fans is enough to get Serenity the press that will get new people to turn out.
