Come dance with me!
Oct. 13th, 2008 11:22 amThis coming Saturday is The Elegant Arts Society's annual Assembly, AKA the niftycool shindig my Regency dance group holds in New Haven, CT. There are awesome outfits! (Not required, just nice to look at.) There are refreshments from Real Period Recipes! There is Live Music from the fantabulous Spare Parts!
Seriously, it's a good time. If you like Jane Austen or Georgette Heyer or Master and Commander or Temeraire, you should totally come play pretend with us. And if you don't know or care about any of that, there's still lots of fun, lively, graceful dancing. And I know for a fact there will be at least one man in a kilt. :)
Beginners are welcome; there's a workshop in the afternoon for those that want to practice in advance. Then on Sunday when we're all footsore and braindead we get together to stroll in the park and play period games and have tea.
(FYI, anyone who gets us their payment before Friday can still take the preregistration discount.)
