zortified sent me Buffy comics! If ever a day needed a treat, it was this one, so double extra thank you with dulce de leche on top!
Don't worry, I've got no big crisis, just that the whirlwind trip to Boston meant a certain lack of time for sleeping, unwinding, or Getting Errands Done, and then my body suddenly remembered that it's been weeks since we bled like a stuck Mer. Stupid biology.
Oh, and there's this, fromardet: Army intelligence investigates attendees of a women in Islam conference.
Maybe they had a perfectly good reason. Maybe a known terrorist is spending his or her free time attending peace rallies in the Midwest and academic conferences in Texas. I assume looking for ignorant patsies/cover stories.
Or, alternatively, they're on a fishing expedition and starting with activities they want to have a chilling effect on in jurisdictions they think might support them.
I suppose maybe even both.
Either of those last two things are events I easily could have attended, if I'd been in Iowa or Texas instead of here. I did attend one of the big anti-war marches. This surveillance thing is getting a little close to home. ::waves to the intelligence community::
So is this Scary or am I overreacting? I can never tell if I'm being Chicken Little or the frog in the slow-boiling pot.
