Well the "Cordy Fans" have had a big FU ever since S3. I can very much see this episode as the big love letter to them, so they'll be all excepting when it's exposed as a lie.
Because they'll always have this Perfect Version of Cordy to hang onto, and ME has never written a character so idealized as she was in this episode.
